Scholarship Program

The M-C Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program was established to provide educational funds for members.  It is to be awarded to a 2011 graduating high school senior or continuing higher education student.

Scholarship Awards:

M-C Federal Credit Union will award three (3) scholarships in the form of a check payable to the student, who is enrolled in an accredited college or university for the 2011-2012   academic year school year. The scholarships will be awarded as follows: One (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who completes a video presentation and two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded to the students who complete the essay option outlined by the guidelines. 

Awarding of Scholarships:

M-C Federal Credit Union reserves the right to withhold award of all scholarships if too few qualified applications are received.  Decisions will not be based on default.  One scholarship application will be accepted per applicant.  Decisions are made by the M-C Federal Credit Union Scholarship selection committee.  All decisions are final.

Deadline:

Completed application and all documents must be received by
M-C Federal Credit Union no later than 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

 Eligibility:

To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Each applicant must be a current member of M-C Federal Credit Union. Applicant’s account must be in good standing.
  2. Each applicant must be a 2011 graduating high school
    senior or continuing higher education student.
  3. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Criteria for Application:

It is the responsibility of the applicant to see that all information is received by the Credit Union’s deadline.

You may apply online or pick up a brochure at any office.
 Include the following when mailing or submitting online:

  1. A completed application
  2. One video presentation ( approx. 30 – 60 seconds)  
    OR
  3. A written essay ( must be a minimum of two pages, double spaced, font size 12)
  4. Request an official transcript to be mailed to M-C Federal  Credit Union in a sealed, stamped envelope.

Note: if choosing the video option, you may submit the application online but the video must be mailed to the credit union.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applicant must submit:

  1. An official high school transcript for the most current semester available, with the total cumulative grade point average (GPA) on the transcript.  Transcript must be received by M-C Federal Credit Union directly from the school in a sealed envelope by the deadline of  May 31, 2011.
  2. A completed M-C Federal Credit Union Scholarship application along with either a Video or Essay.  One entry per individual.

    Important: Please do not send in any part of the application package separately except for your transcript and video.  Scholarship applications will not be considered unless all required information is received by the deadline of May 31, 2011.
